BUILDING MANAGER (LIVE-IN)
REPORTS TO: Property Manager
FLSA STATUS: Exempt
HOURS: Generally business hours – Mon-Fri; may vary based on building and tenant needs
COMPENSATION: $30,000 – $36,000 annually (DOE) and 1 bedroom apartment

JOB SUMMARY
The Building Manager is responsible for managing building and program operations, providing effective, safe day-to-day operations for staff and tenants in the building and performing property management tasks which include: ensuring that the building is well maintained, writing and serving tenant notices, deciding consequences for violations of rules and policies, directing and supervising the Building Coordinators and Building Specialists; staffing the front desk/office as needed, assisting with unit turnovers, overseeing all tenant annual re-certifications, coordinating all move-ins and move-outs, completing related paperwork, entering tenant information and rent payments into the agency data base and keeping tenant files up to date. The Building Manager works closely with the assigned Plymouth social services staff and works collaboratively with other Plymouth departments; establishes relationships with tenants, community agencies and tenant case managers. The Building Manager ensures that staff and tenants are consistently treated fairly and with respect at all times.
ESSENTIAL JOB QUALIFICATIONS
(Any equivalent combination of knowledge, skills, abilities, education, and experience)
- Education: AA degree or equivalent. Experience may be substituted for education.
- Experience: Required two years of experience working in housing, human service or customer service positions. Experience with diverse, low-income or special needs populations.
- Other Qualifications: Must have interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with tenants and the public. Ability to resolve conflict and work with a diverse low-income population consisting of a wide variety of cultures, religions, races, ethnic groups and nationalities; clear and concise oral and written communication; effective problem solving and time management skills; proficient and experienced with Microsoft Office applications; particularly Word, Excel, and Outlook Must be able to work efficiently and effectively with customized databases and technology, and conduct Internet research. Demonstrated leadership and administrative skills. Live-In positions must meet income eligibility criteria.
- Preferred Experience: Supervisory experience. Excellent client boundaries and rule enforcement, including lease and building rules as well as King County Landlord Tenant law. Knowledge of and experience with housing subsidies such as tax credits, Section 8 and HUD. Bilingual applicants encouraged to apply.
