PURPOSE OF POSITION
The Building Specialist is responsible for monitoring and assisting
with the safety and security of the building and residents. Most PHG buildings are staffed 7 days a week and some are staffed 24 hours a day. Most openings are for Live Out staff but from time to time there are Live In positions in which the Building Specialist receives an apartment as part of their compensation.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
The Building Specialist position is responsible for maintaining the safety and security of the building and tenants, enforcing building rules, and performing janitorial and maintenance tasks.
In the absence of the Resident Manager, the Building Specialist is responsible for responding to and reporting tenant and building emergencies.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education: High School diploma or GED equivalent
Experience: Previous customer service experience required.
Other: Must have personal skills to communicate effectively with tenants and the public. Must be able to work independently as well as in a team environment. Must be able to read, write, and understand English. Basic computer skills, including working knowledge of MS Office is desired. Demonstrated administrative support skills.
Preferred Experience: Experience with diverse, low-income or special needs population. Janitorial, light maintenance or security experience preferred.

Hours: 40 hours per week - Various shifts: Day, Evening, Night
Beginning Compensation: $8.25-$13.00 per hour DOQ + benefits.
