Non-perishable Food Donations Needed

Posted June 12, 2011

Canned Foods

In light of the state's cuts to the Disability Lifeline, Plymouth is stepping up to provide canned and boxed food items to our residents.

Your donation of non-perishable foods and hygiene items will help very low-income and formerly homeless people stabilize in housing.

Plymouth’s Essential Supply Center is a place where Plymouth’s formerly homeless residents can obtain essential items they cannot otherwise afford.

Approximately 10% of Plymouth residents have received $200 per month in cash assistance from the Disability Lifeline to pay rent and buy personal items ranging from toiletries to cleaning products.

Unfortunately, the Lifeline has been cut from the state’s budget, leaving some of our residents struggling to make ends meet. (Read more about cuts to the Disability Lifeline.)

Please help by donating hygiene and non-perishable food items to our Essential Supply Center. Your in-kind donation will ensure that our residents do not need to choose between paying for rent and food.

The following items are needed most:

  • Toilet Paper & Paper Towels
  • First Aid Items (Bandaids, Peroxide, Alcohol Swabs etc)
  • Canned Meats
  • Canned Beans
  • Canned Vegetables & Fruits
  • Soup & soup mixes
  • Boxes of Pastas & Rice
  • Small Jars of Peanut butter & Jam
  • Dry or Condensed Milk

Thank you for your kindness.
